Uhhhhhh, humbling .... I are stoopid about geography. I missed Cairo Egypt by 3400 km.

I keep swapping Mauritius (island off the east coast of Africa) and Mauritania (on the west coast of Africa).

But, 3rd times the charm - got upto level 11, w/ 443,047pts.
