Exciting week is awaiting!

Tomorrow we start a 5-day workshop with Don Andrews, a nationally known big-shot painter (to those of us who paint watercolors, he is close to being a god).

He did a demo for our watercolor society
today, and within five minutes we have found out that in addition to his wonderful skills as an artist, he is also hysterically funny.
While he was demoing, as he was waiting for the paint to dry between layers, he would go for story-telling, building the plot ingeniously and slamming the punch-line, and basically performing a top-notch standup comedy.
Obviously, not everyone found his sense of humor amusing, but very soon, a lot of us (including yours truly) were rolling on the floor in stitches.

And to add to it, he is from Alabama, so he has this southern charm and the coolest accent, y'all.

Looks like we are going to have 5 very, very fun and very intensive days.

Oh, and - TexieD, it's a workshop of painting figures in watercolor.
Nude figures, that is.
From life.
Meaning, we are going to have two women modeling for us in the classroom, in the nude, for the whole time.
I am very used to it, but I do hope that's OK with you.

I am sure The JohnnyB
is hitting his head against the wall, as he usually gets first bids on seeing the fruits of my work - but he is thousand of miles away, preferring cows over his lovely, so he is going to miss, big time.

OK, y'all can close your jaw now, and please do wipe the drool from the corner of your mouth.
(to those of you who are drooling because I mentioned JohnnyB and cows, well, it's time for therapy).
And, if y'all behave, I may even post some of the paintings, Blogger permits.

In the meantime, you can treat yourself to Don's artwork.
