100% SPAM
Been getting a lot of SPAM lately.
I mean, A LOT.
Tons of Emails offering me Viagra (no, thank you) or ways to expand my penis (don't have one, sorry), incredible opportunities to invest my money, job offers, alerts from banks and PayPal, heartrending requests for money from Paulina who came to the US and her heart was broken and now she needs to go back and by the way she is a gorgeous Blond - you name it.
Not only do they come to my personal Email, but they also arrive from several Email addresses that I am on (organization-related committees) and are forwarded to my personal Email address.
I am used to it.
I even stopped complaining.
I am now at the catatonic stage of going through my mail, deleting 90% of the messages, stopping to get acquainted with the new ones, and moving on..
It's become part of modern life.
But right now, I got this Email with the subject "anti-spammers are lamers".
The body of the mail simply says
- - - - - subj
- - - - - regards, spammer.
Which got me thinking that I actually appreciate this kind of SPAM.
Pure SPAM. Organic, almost.
Straight to the point, very direct and refreshingly honest and sincere.
Not trying to sell me anything, not tempting or intimidating me, no promised profit - just purely sent to overload my mailbox.
How very nice.
Still, on a second thought: how very, very sad, that someone actually bothered to write this, spent the energy to think of having it rhyme (well, kinda), and Email it out.
So many people don't have a life, Eh?
Next Bi-Weekly e-SPAM
Labels: Damn Technology, SPAM, Venting
I just changed my e-mail which was a pain in the rump. I had my old faithful e-mail for ages and now I've been forced because I was getting over 400 spam mails a day! So to get my e-mails I had to sift through all of those...ugh.
Enough.
So now I just checked my mail and I had 13. Wow. 13 real messages from real people that I know. Brings new meaning to the word, AMAZING.
I got one of these too (then googled the phrase and found you)...
It's possible the message is used to see if the email address will bounce. If they get a bounce, they remove it from their lists.

Aha!
Still, I feel sorry for these lifeless beings.
I wish I knew how to make messages bounce from my Email address - that would be highly useful.
Rhonda - 400 Spam Emails A DAY??
I now feel so deprived...
Just sent you an email to add another real message - but I think it might be your old address?
you got the e-mail right.
out of curiosity I checked my old one, it has 2,018 e-mails just sitting there...hahahahah I'm not the sucker I used to be!
I have turned all the anti-spammers off, as it take seven more time to make sure I don't lose real important Emails.
I am yet to see a good anti-spammer.
"Anti-spammers are lamers"...
I got the same one this morning and posted it in my blog b/c I also thought it was [annoyingly] funny. Then, a few hours later, I discovered that someone landed on my blog through a search for "regards, spammer". How even more bizarre! Perhaps this person is checking for f/b on his/her handiwork?
At any rate, I thought it was also kinda funny to see how many other people received this one and thought it was "unique" ;-)
Well, StatCounter shows me visitors from all over the world (USA, Canada, Australia, Japan) searching for these key words.
When ever I need to give my mail I used one from www.spamgourmet.com. It creates temp adress for up to 20 mails and has nice features.
It's free and I never got spam from them.
Some of the spams are actually entertaining... in a mind-numbing sort of way. Lately I've been offered a "thinker peniz" [sic]. I'm trying to picture that with no success.
I've offered such a few times, but never really had it to give. Is why I don't drink that much anymore, eh. {-;
And what is this "life" of which you speak? Sounds like somethin' I might wanna get me a little of.
Actually, GMail does an even better job of sorting the SPAM than Yahoo does, though the latter is better than it used to be.
